Joepaul Meyers
It was such a blessing for me to meet Joepaul several years ago (approximately 14 years ago). He has helped me with so many horses, whether it be a rescue horse such as "Dash" or just one of my own horses that had issues whether it be from genetics, previous horseshoers, founder, conformation or injury. Joepaul is a great farrier, horseman, friend and is more knowledgeable (in my opinion) than a vast number of veterinarians when it comes to horses. I could write a book on the horses (Dash, Flash, Wynnie, Threat, Cody, Slim, Flame, Seven) that Joepaul has helped me with, but I am going to focus on Ace, my 3-year-old Frenchman's Guy colt. Without the help of Joepaul, Ace would have been permanently lame. I took Ace to Joepaul when Ace was 9 months old. He had got caught up in a smooth wire fence when he was just a baby and he lost part of his right hind hoof due to the injuries. Ace could only tip toe on the right hind when Joepaul started trimming him and Joepaul was very honest with me (like always) and he told me that there was a chance that Ace might not ever be sound, but that he would do everything he possibly could to help him. Joepaul trimmed Ace every 3 weeks for several months and he improved with every trim! Ace continued to get better so Joepaul was able to stretch the trimmings to four, then 5 weeks, and so on. Joepaul continued trimming Ace until he moved to Texas, but even after he moved, he made sure to introduce me to a farrier that could continue to take care of Ace the way he needed to be and I'm happy to say that Ace is 100% sound! Ace is a super nice horse and I have to thank Joepaul for all of the time that he put into getting him sound.

I had the pleasure of being a customer of Joepaul’s for about 3 years before he moved to Texas. He shod my reining mare and a few cutting/reining bred colts that we had in that time frame. Joepaul upheld a level of excellence in shoeing those horses that often gets overlooked by both farriers and their customers. He always did things with a “horse first” mentality and never cheated or cut corners. I never walked away feeling like my horses were going to be hurting, and they never did. His dedication to soundness of foot, body, and mind in the horses he works on is impeccable. Joepaul is as courteous, friendly, and professional of a person as you could ask for. He’s always looking out for a horse’s best interest and ways to improve on what’s already there, all with a big friendly grin on his face. Joepaul is surely a few-and-far-between type of guy!
