[Video] America’s Horse: Lessons from Farriers Working the Quarter Horse Congress

Started in 1967, the Quarter Horse Congress has grown from a 3-day event to become the largest single-breed show in the world, held over 3 weeks. And many farriers have worked the thousands of Quarter Horses over the 55 years since it started.

In this session, a few of these farriers will talk about their careers and working with Quarter Horses. Dwight Sanders of Kenly, N.C.; Harry Serio of Finksburg, Md.; Terry Stever of Sulphur, Okla.; and Bobby Menker of Lexington, Ky., share their experiences. Wellington, Fla., farrier Dave Farley, who also worked many Congresses, will moderate this lively conversation. They will discuss how the industry had changed, lessons learned from working with these horses and clients, and some of the memo- rable moments and farriers from decades ago.
