[Video] Hoof Wall Rebuilds: Combining The Old And The New
In this session, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., veterinarian and farrier Mark Silverman will discuss the basics and mechanics of repairing the hoof wall. Silverman will pull samples from his California clinic and how he and the resident farrier approach the application. A severe case study will demonstrate the need for understanding this footcare application.
Dr. Silverman received his veterinary degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been in the equine industry his entire life as a farrier, a saddler, a barn manager, a trainer and a veterinarian. His continued interest in the equine foot extends to his involvement with the evolution of adhesive shoe technology.
