TAKE A SHORT TOUR OF CINCINNATI AND THE NETHERLAND PLAZA

Experience an Unforgettable Stay Surrounded by Classic Architecture and Modern Hospitality

Open since 1931, the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza — the host hotel of the International Hoof-Care Summit — is Cincinnati’s must-see hotel and a registered National Historic Landmark. The Hilton is centrally located in beautiful downtown Cincinnati at the corner of 5th and Race Streets. Adorned with rare Brazilian rosewood paneling, two-story ceiling murals and original German silver-nickel fixtures throughout, the Netherland Plaza is one of the world's finest examples of French Art Deco style and the perfect place to hang your hat after a long day of learning.

Benefits of staying at the host hotel include:

5 FASCINATING FACTS ABOUT THE HILTON CINCINNATI NETHERLAND PLAZA

Fact #1: During one of many stays by Elvis Presley, he ordered a hamburger cooked well-done and loved it so much he went to the kitchen, found the cook and announced with a broad grin, “I just wanted to thank the person that made the best burger I ever had."

Fact #2: Cincinnati native and future recording artist and movie star Doris Day made her professional debut in the hotel’s big-band Pavilion Nightclub at age 15 in 1939.

Fact #3: During one of Bing Crosby's visits, a crowd gathered outside the hotel hoping to get a glimpse of the crooner. Existing the hotel, Bing climbed onto the back of his convertible and sang a few songs before the police cleared the way so he could drive off.

Fact #4: After England Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s 1930s stay, his personal secretary wrote in her memoir, “Mr. Churchill was quite enchanted. ‘It’s gorgeous. It’s magnificent. It’s s-s-simply s-s-splendid.’” (Churchill stuttered when excited). He loved the bathroom so much he had it copied at his country house.

Fact #5: The Netherland Plaza’s guestbook reads features a number of White House luminaries , including John and Jackie Kennedy, first Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, Richard Nixon and George H.W. Bush.

HILTON CINCINNATI NETHERLAND PLAZA CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

HILTON CINCINNATI NETHERLAND PLAZA VALET PARKING

Hotel overnight valet parking is currently $33 per night until 3 p.m. on check out day.  Complimentary in and out privileges are included with the exception of departure day where there is a $10 re-park charge each time the car is brought around. The clearance into hotel valet is 6’6”. This is important information to consider for oversized vans and SUVs.

Motorcycle parking is also available in hotel valet on a self-serve and first option basis. Overnight parking is $33 per night with departure by 3 p.m. on check out day.

COLD WEATHER NOTE:  In cold temperatures, the entrance garage door to valet may be closed.  Please know the door will open automatically once your vehicle pulls close enough to trigger the motion sensor.  After you have pulled through; the garage door will close automatically.

HILTON CINCINNATI NETHERLAND PLAZA SELF PARKING (Adjacent to the hotel)

Mabley Place Garage is located within the Carew Tower complex and attached to the hotel.  The main entrance is on Race Street, third driveway on the left after passing the Hotel Main Entrance at the corner of Race and 5th Streets.  An additional entrance and exit can also be found on Fourth Street.  This is a self-parking garage with a 24/7 automated pay station offering rates of $4 per hour after 8 hours, and a flat rate of $17.  After 4 p.m., and all day on weekends, the rate is $6* for up to 8 hours.  No in/out privileges.

*Rate does not apply for special events

Guests of Hilton Netherland Plaza have the option of charging overnight self-parking at Mabley Place Garage with in/out privilege to their guestroom at a cost of $28 per night and departure by 3 p.m. on check out day.  Bring your ticket with you to the front desk when you check in.

This garage can be extremely busy on some days and you may arrive when the "FULL" light is on at the entrance gate.  In this case, press the "HELP" button on the gate and inform the helpline you are checking into the hotel.  The helpline will lift the gate for entrance.  You will get no ticket, but should proceed to the front desk of the Hilton to check in and let the desk agent know they parked at Mabley Place Garage.

During the hotel stay and when re-entering Mabley Place Garage, if the "FULL" sign is lit, the validated parking ticket given to you when checking into the hotel will lift the gate to enter, even when the "FULL" sign is lit.

The clearance is 6’8” and important to consider for those in oversized vehicles.
