Mark your calendars now for the 10th anniversary of the International Hoof-Care Summit that will take place from January 29 to February 1 in Cincinnati

As we’re getting planning under way for next winter’s 10th annual International Hoof-Care Summit, it’s gratifying to realize that more than 6,600 attendees have soaked up plenty of valuable footcare education at the previous nine events. And, it’s flattering to know the Summit has gained a reputation as the premier footcare educational event in the world.

With a theme of “Celebrating A Decade Of Hoof-Care Education,” next winter’s event takes place from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, 2013, in Cincinnati, Ohio. While we don’t have the details worked out yet, you can bet there will be several special activities to help farriers, equine veterinarians and suppliers celebrate the Summit’s 10-year anniversary.

Dynamic Vs. Static Shoeing

British farrier Hayden Price will tackle the pros and cons of dynamic shoeing as opposed to static shoeing at next winter’s Summit. The director of the Farriery Centre in Usk, Wales, Price operates a footcare referral business that works with a number of veterinary practices within the United Kingdom. He specializes in farriery treatment of poor performance and lameness issues.

In the mid-1980s, Price developed the Equinalysis system, which is a practical, computer-based software system that features integrated video analysis. It has proven to be a valuable clinical analysis tool in evaluating the dynamic assessment of performance horses.
