I just got to say that the noavel headstall is the best saftey trainning tool that I a have used. Its the most time saving and effective aproach that for dealing with trouble horses. I just wanted to talk it up a bit and see what other people thinks about it.

I've never tried it. Mainly because of mixed reviews. Some like it, others don't.

I was introduced to it 4 years ago and have been using it ever since. I work on mostly back yard horses that aren't trained nor ridden very often. It works on about 98 % of the horses. You really have to know what your doing to use it though, can make things worse if used worng. Well worth the money.

What do they cost and where is the best place to get one? I have used a war bridle and it is kind of the same way used right it works really well used wrong and it can create alot of problems.

Dustyn,
I've used the Noavel headstall for years. It works great. I learned how to use it from Rich Wheat himself. Like any tool, you need to know how to use it in order to effectively use it correctly.

I have always looked at this but in my area we work mostly on concrete floors and I am afraid of a horse's over-reaction causing injury to itself or someone else. I live in the lawyer capital of the world. Jerry

Dear Brian,
Go to www.noavel.com My husband bought one several years ago at Rick Wheat clinic. At the time it was about $150 but like anything else the cost has probably increased.Make sure you get to video on the proper useage of it. Like an tool; it will work on most horses ; but not all of them. Good Luck.

I bought a headstall some 3 years ago and I can assure you it was the best 150 usd spent in a long time. I use it on horses with behaviour problems where I live and work in Holland and I have yet to meet a horse that it does not work on and I can assure you, I have met some bad ones.
I have noticed though that when harshly applied, some horses tend to over react. I do agree with Dr Buff, one need to know how to use it properly.
