Does anybody remember which AFJ had Eddie Watson's step by step method for heart bars.

The article, "A Heart Bar You Can Use," appeared in the December, 1995 issue, beginning on page 36. As an aside, anytime you are looking for a particular article that appeared in AFJ, you can use the searchable article index, which is found on this Website under the Only Online section. I typed the key words "Eddie Watson" into the index's search space, and found the article easily.
Hope this is helpful.

I now have a new "Apprentice" Farrier, for his first task I had him "Make a Hoof Pick from an old horse shoe-this will teach a "Student" the use of the forge, temps to work at, "Drawing", hot filing, back bending, bending, drilling, polishing, and of course fitting, plus the finished product can be given to a new client for use on their horse!

When forging the "Heartbar" I like to form the shoe and "weld" the shoe together on the "Tongue of the heartbar". Recently I have used some from "Ironworks" since I am running short on metal and they seem to work fine but are pricey $12.95 per pair.
With the "Burn Ban" in effect for most of my area of operation-may well be the answer!
