I have a horse with a medial collateral ligament injury. Is there any shoeing advise that anyone has.

This post may be too late, but I had a horse that had a tear of the collateral ligament of the coffin bone on the lateral side. I put the horse in a side weight shoe, stall rest and it worked great.

Lynee,

I deal with this type of injury by shoeing with a wider branch to the side of the injury.  In this case, a wider inside branch.  The thinking behind this is to prevent the inside branch from sinking into the surface and allowing less strain/stress on the collateral ligament.  Stall rest and time is also recommended.  Good luck.
