I would like to know what other farriers think of the way the Farrier's Magazine is sent out. I got my Jan/Feb issue about the 20th of February and was shocked to see the advertisements for the 2011 IHCS with the dates for attendence being on the 4 th and 5th of February. It already happened by the time I got the issue! I don't understand how the publisher can send out a magazine with information about registration for this clinic and it is already over before you even get the information on it. Good grief! Maybe they sent me emails before hand, I can't remember so I will give them the benefit of the doubt to be polite. It just seems ignorant to send a current issue with past events with phone numbers to call to make reservations for a convention that is already finished? Does anyone else feel the same way or am I alone with this thought?
I would never ever send out a publication with phone numbers and information to register for an event that is finished! Does not make sense to me! I may have wanted to attend this conference but it already happened! What is up with this monkey junk?

Ernest,
I contacted Lessiter Publications and found that you are a new orderer and they sent you a back issue of the magazine for you so you could have one instead of waiting for the March issue to arrive. This is why you received it when you did because your order was received on January 26, 2011. The January/February issue went to the printer on December 15 and mailed out on January 3, 2011. Perhaps that will answer your questions.
FYI -the Summit had been advertised in all the previous several issues before that, as well as all over the internet. Wish you could of been there, it is a great learning experience. Perhaps next year.
Enjoy the magazine.

Ernest,
I'm pretty sure that every issue of the AFJ has at least one mention of the IHCS. They get more highlighted as the time draws closer. I think I saw at least 4 official registration forms posted in the issues leading up to the Summit. Sorry you missed it, trust me it not something you can afford to miss.
