Two speakers have been confirmed for the 2005 International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio, January 26-29, 2005.
* Randy Luikart, Mansfield, Ohio, will tackle the issue of effective heel management and dealing with underrun heels. This farrier will also share his uncanny ability to look at the role that physics plays in seeing how the equine foot actually works.
* Gene Ovnicek, Penrose, Colo., will share his insights on the Natural Balance System. Whether you use this technique or not, this farrier will offer distinct ideas on recognizing and treating heel vs. navicular pain and analyzing the similarities between the chronic laminitic foot and the club foot that will be of special interest to farriers and equine vets.
Be sure to make your recommendations for topics and speakers for the second-annual International Hoof-Care Summit in January, 2005. You may also use the "Ideas for the 2005 International Hoof-Care Summit" message board to make suggestions.

I'm glad that Gene Ovnicek and the many other speakers participated; I'd be thrilled if next year's summit included even more about the Natural Balance system and Gene Ovnicek's views on hoof related issues.
