Second Annual Texas Equine Podiatry Conference
Dr. Chris Pollitt, one of the world’s foremost authorities on laminitis, will headline the Second Annual Texas Equine Podiatry Conference, set for November 12-14, 2009 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Other internationally-renowned speakers include: Stephen O’Grady, BVSc, MRCS, popular and well-respected equine podiatrist with Northern Virginia Equine; Mark Caldwell, FWCF, renowned British farrier with Myerscough College, England; and Blane Chapman, CJF of the famous Chapman family of farriers. Successful practitioners Dustin Dorris, DVM, CF, from Reata, and Rob Franklin, DVM of Weatherford Equine, also will share practical knowledge from their educationand experience.
Open to both veterinarians and farriers, the conference is co-sponsored by the Podiatry Center at Reata Equine Hospital and the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, and includes both lectures and wet lab opportunites. The host hotel is the Hyatt Place Historic Stockyards, where a special room rate includes both breakfast and parking.
Thursday afternoon and Friday will be dedicated to classroom lectures in the Stockman’s Club at the Historic Stockyards Station, while Saturday will be spent in a Wet Lab at the Podiatry Center of Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford, Texas. Transportation will be provided if needed. Other events include: our very popular Thursday night Dinner/Social — with Dr. Pollitt as keynote speaker, a “Chuckwagon Chat” event, and Saturday’s Outlaw Brunch!
