New Ideas Shaping Up For Calgary Mail-In Forging Exercise
![]() |
Two new innovations will be part of this year’s Calgary Mail-In Forging Exercise that is co-sponsored by the Calgary Stampede’s World Championship Blacksmiths’ Competition committee and American Farriers Journal. This year’s event calls for participants to forge a pair of roadster shoes in their own shop and then mailing them to Calgary for evaluation.
Committee member Marshal Iles has announced that the individual who forges this year’s top scoring set of roadster shoes will be presented with a custom-made belt buckle.
In addition, the Calgary, Alberta, farrier says all Mail-In Forging Exercise participants will receive the same bag of valuable footcare products that is presented to contestants in the early July World Championship Blacksmiths’ Competition that takes place during the annual Calgary Stampede.
