Andrea, Katrina adn Lee, There are several different methods to deal with LTLH feet. The success of each method depends also on the conformation of the horse. In this case, Red is using a passive contact frog support pad. There is very little pressure on the frog as opposed to using it to stabilize a foundered horse where much more pressure is used. The frog is well designed to take up the slack for the hoof wall when needed, assuming there is no issues such as a frog abscess, etc.

I was wondering about the pressure on the frog as well. how much is too much?

I have several horses with this problem. I would really love to see the results of this corrective shoeing

Is there any risk with putting that much pressure on the frog?
